Phantogram share gospel-tinged new track ‘Same Old Blues’
The track is taken from their new album ‘Three’.
After sharing ‘Cruel World’ and ‘You Don’t Get Me High Anymore,’ Phantogram are continuing to preview new album ‘Three,’ which is due out on 7th October.
The latest taste from the drum-machine happy duo is ‘Same Old Blues,’ which puts a spin on their brash brand of dreampop. Sarah Barthel laments that “there’s always something that’s pulling me down,” accompanied by snippets of gospel choir. If that sounds a bit downbeat, it’s all built on a foundation of pulsating dance beats. Oh yeah, and there’s a really dirty guitar solo too. It’s far from being just the “same old blues.”
