Philip Selway previews new album with ‘It Will End In Tears’

Radiohead drummer’s new solo album is out this October.

Let’s hope this song title isn’t some deadly prophecy for the new Radiohead album. Their drummer, Philip Selway, has unveiled a new track to be taken from his forthcoming solo release - it’s called ‘It Will End in Tears’.

The new song is a simple, chiming piano ballad, orchestrated by distant vocals and playful percussive parts. It’s taken from the new album, ‘Weatherhouse’, and it’s available as a free download to anyone pre-ordering the record.

The follow-up to 2010’s ‘Familial’ (with 2011 EP ‘Running Blind’ running in between), ‘Weatherhouse’ is Selway’s second solo LP, and it’s released on 7th October via Bella Union.

Previously, Selway shared the lead track ‘Coming Up for Air’.

Radiohead are meanwhile due to work together in a studio this September, with guitarist Jonny Greenwood recently claiming that he and Thom Yorke had been exchanging ideas via email.
