Premiere: Listen: Forest Unveil New ‘99’ Track
Cambridge sun-loungers’ potential ode to a 99p flake is everything the departing summer requires.

‘You’d be happy to sell your soul for sunshine,’ runs the mission statement of Cambridge group Forest.
‘It’s the single most powerful thing which directly affects us and it’s about wanting to go away to find it and being so desperate for it,’ they tell DIY. This evident longing plays into the five-piece’s second EP, ‘Caramel Arms’. Landing a release via Indelabel on 14th October, one track stands out alongside its fellow sun-loungers:
‘99’ is as tempting as its ice cream namesake. The brattish, Ryan Jarman-like charms of the band’s frontman Henry Barraclough are completely unrivalled in the nonchalance stakes. You can practically hear sweat drips and sunstroke-d daydreaming lodging itself into the track.
