Pumarosa bring the panoramas in new ‘Honey’ video
It boasts the kind of sweeping landscape shots that would have National Geographic weeping with joy.
Pumarosa’s latest single ‘Honey’ is a mammoth song, and fittingly, the London band aim just as big in the matching video. Privvy to the kind of sweeping aerial landscapes and text combos that would prompt joyful weeping from the National Geographic and Jenny Holzer alike, the visual journeys through arid deserts and mountainous rivers, before plunging into urban bustle and bleak-looking landfill sites.
According to a press release, the ‘Honey’ video is “inspired by the idea of subverting the triumphant voice of progress - its slogans and its idioms. Text and images from an idealised world are distorted and decontextualised, punctuated with the track’s lyrics and juxtaposed with each other in a chaotic frenzy.” Sounds well arty, right?
