Reading & Leeds say 2020 festival is “going ahead as planned” despite coronavirus

Reading & Leeds have assured fans that the 2020 edition of the festivals is “going ahead as planned”.

A number of festivals, gigs and tours have been cancelled in the past few days due to the ongoing outbreak of the coronavirus, including Coachella, which has been delayed from April to October.

In a message sent out to ticket holders this week, Reading & Leeds, which falls on August bank holiday weekend (August 28-30), confirmed that, as of right now, the events will still be going ahead.

“At this time, Reading/Leeds Festival is going ahead as planned,” the message reads. “Please be assured that the safety and health of all staff and visitors is our main priority and we are implementing recommendations and instructions appropriately.

“We are closely monitoring official guidance from the World Health Organisation, Public Health England, UK Government, local public health authorities and are working with event promoters and organisers as information evolves.”

Reading & Leeds 2020 is set to be headlined by Liam Gallagher, Stormzy and Rage Against The Machine.

The rest of the lineup includes Two Door Cinema Club, slowthai, Declan McKenna, Rex Orange County, Fontaines DC, IDLES, Creeper, Spector, girl in red, Beabadoobee, Sports Team and more.
