Oo-nah-nah!
Rihanna could be working with Florence and the Machine
Still no #R8, but someone in camp Rihanna has been busy registering song names. One of them could feature Florence and the Machine.
Rihanna’s been a gleeful source of frustration for her fans since approximately last November, when speculation surrounding her eighth studio album reached an all time high. From diss-tweets directed at American radio stations to short blurry pieces of studio footage, #R8 has caused a right old hoo-hah. And, lets be painfully realistic here, we don’t even know if there is an album yet, let alone the name of said hypothetical record.
Something is a-foot, mind you. One of team RiRi has been busy registering song names, and eagle-eyed members of the Popjustice forum spied this evidential artifact:
The form shows Rihanna’s writer credit clear as day (full name Robyn R. Fenty, FYI). It also lists Paul Epworth - who has previously produced for the likes of Adele and Coldplay - along with Florence and the Machine. Somebody sound the pop collab klaxon!
Some have speculated that the newly registered Rihanna song ‘A Night’ might come with a full-blown Florence ft. Others have suggested that it might be a song sampling Florence’s song ‘Only If For A Night‘. Either way, it’s news from the Rihanna camp, and that is good enough for the time being.
In the meantime, listen to ‘World Peace’, rumoured to be a Rihanna demo for a soundtrack album that she may or may not be working on. At this stage, who bloody knows?
