Rilo Kiley Look Set To Release Archival Project

After unofficially splitting two years ago, the L.A. quartet have hinted that a release is on the cards.

Rilo Kiley Look Set To Release Archival Project

Rilo Kiley look to be readying the release of an archival project, as a means of officially ending their decade-long career.

Having, well… sort of split back in 2010 - there was very little way of official confirmation at the time - the band have spent the two years since mentioning a possible compilation of material which would mark the end of their career.

As Pitchfork points out, guitarist Blake Sennett went on to speak to Spinner last year about the band’s split and the possible future release, calling it ‘a two-disc set of 40 songs, or something,’ which could be ‘more considered like our last release, to me.’ Jenny Lewis has also called the release, ‘a collection of B-sides,’ ‘just stuff that has been lying around for many, many years.’

Now, it looks as though the set has come to fruition, after a post appeared on the band’s Facebook yesterday (28th December). They said: “Record is almost finished, and artwork nearly done. Going to need your help! More to come.”

We’ll keep you updated with more information on the release as and when we have it. It has also become apparent that no new material is set to be released from the band.
