Sam Smith Wins BBC Sound Of 2014 Poll

Sam Smith backs up his BRITs Critics’ Choice Award with a second gong.

Sam Smith has officially won every single ‘exciting UK artist’ award going by coming first in the BBC Sound Of 2014 poll.

The Essex-raised, London-based singer also picked up the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award 2014. He first appeared on Disclosure’s ‘Latch’ single back in 2012, which was shortly followed up by Naughty Boy’s ‘LaLaLa’, which topped the UK charts. Sam’s own material is also very good, especially last year’s smooth-as-butter ‘Nirvana’ single.

Sam Smith’s debut album ‘In The Lonely Hour’ is released on 26th May via PMR - it’s led by new single ‘Money On My Mind’, which comes produced by Two Inch Punch.

The BBC Sound of 2014 poll’s top 5 reads Smith at #1, Ella Eyre at #2, Banks at #3, Sampha at #4 and George Ezra at #5.

‘Money’ might not be on Sam Smith’s ‘Mind’, but he’ll probably be getting Quite A Lot of money soon.
