Shunkan gets Hitchcockian with thriller ‘Our Names’ video
Get ready for the gore - Connor Strati directs a clip for the New Zealander’s new single.
21-year-old New Zealander Shunkan has seen a few horrorshows of her own.
On her new ‘Our Names’ single, she sings about friends “making jokes”, “pointing fingers” and “snorting coke”, and it’s true - few things come more terrifying than when the lives of those around you look like they’re spiralling out of control. But with a new video for ‘Our Names’, premiering on DIY, Shunkan takes the horror factor a little more literally.
Connor Strati directs the new clip, which pits the LA-born Marina Sakimoto in a series of Hitchcock-inspired horror situations. Meat cleavers, empty hallways and mysterious, masked strangers set the agenda, and it sees the songwriter joining a secret club of bloodthirsty killers. She takes a magic potion, and it’s all downhill from there.
‘Our Names’ is released on 13th April via Art Is Hard Records - pre-order here.
