It's a Shura thing
Shura debuts new track ‘White Light’ and plays Maida Vale session
Huw Stephens gave brand new song ‘White Light’ it’s first spin on Radio 1 last night, and invited Shura to Maida Vale for a live session.
Huw Stephens played a new track by DIY Class of 2015 star Shura on his BBC Radio 1 show last night. ‘White Light’ has been a staple of Shura’s live set for a while now, but it appears to be lined up as her next forthcoming single release.
‘White Light’ is delivered by a sombre Shura who breathes her lyrics into an atmosphere of nocturnal soundscapes. It’s an ideal anecdote for late night listening and the track’s tone changes towards the ending that features fuller instrumentation, perfectly capturing the live aspects that the track was born from.
Shura also dropped into Maida Vale on Monday evening to perform three songs on Huw Stephens’ radio show. Listen to Shura perform ‘Indecision’, ‘Just Once’ and ‘Touch’ here. New track ‘White Light’, which was played last night, can be heard on the old iPlayer, along with a proper introduction from Shura. Listen here [‘White Light’ starts at 1:03:53]:
