Shura remixes Pumarosa’s debut single ‘Priestess’
She takes the dancey threads of the original’s video quite literally.
Shura has given a bit of the old remix treatment to Pumarosa, and their debut single ‘Priestess’. The mammoth seven-minute track first came out in September, and it later got a choreography-filled music video to match.
Picking out the dancier strands, and taking them quite literally, Shura’s remix gets headier than Olivier Giroud on a winning goal streak with the Gunners. Strange little noises toot through the haze like Clangers in attendance at an all-night warehouse party, and the groove tumbles over and over like a purple-drenched, glitter-filled washing machine. Remarkably, for a remix, Shu’s take is actually shorter than the original.
Pumarosa are set to play DIY Present’s Hello 2016 in January, where we’re hosting some of next year’s most exciting prospects. Shura, meanwhile, is hard at work on her debut album - and there’s even a blimmin’ ‘is it finished yet’ website to let you know how that’s coming along. She also made her telly debut playing ‘Touch’ on Jools Holland earlier this week, so that’s a bit good, innit?
