Sia, Iggy Azalea tipped to represent Australia at Eurovision 2015
Down Under is having a go at winning the pop extravaganza.
Australia isn’t in Europe, this much is clear. But the country has been invited to compete in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest for a one-off occasion, to celebrate the pop comp’s 60th anniversary.
“It is our way of saying; let’s celebrate this party together!” says Jon Ola Sand, executive supervisor of the contest.
40 countries will be competing, including Aus, with the Down Under competitor flying over for a 23rd May final in Austria.
With Australia yet to announce its chosen act, William Hill has placed Sia and Iggy Azalea amongst the favourites to represent their country.
The ‘Chandelier’-penner is at 8/1, with Iggy at 9/1. Danni Minogue and blog-boy Chet Faker have the same odds of 14/1, while unlikely names arrive in the form of INXS (66/1), AC/DC (100/1), Russell Crowe (500/1) and former cricketer Brett Lee (500/1).
Outsider bet? Courtney Barnett, or just Flume, bopping his beautiful head for four minutes straight to Eurovision-winning beats.
