See Sleigh Bells bring ‘I Can Only Stare’ to Colbert
It’s a crushing version of one of the ‘Jessica Rabbit’ highlights.
On last night’s ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,’ Sleigh Bells popped up to play a typically crushing rendition of ‘I Can Only Stare.’
One of the highlights from their latest album ‘Jessica Rabbit,’ the pitch-perfect performance got the balance between blaring synths and pop sensibilities just right.
Taking centre stage though was Alexis Krauss’s epic vocals, which soar high above the crushing electro-pop and truly capturing the “emotional, visceral presence” she wanted to bring to the LP. Watching this, you can’t help but just stare.
Check out the performance below and catch up with our recent interview with the band here.
