Smashing Pumpkins sell “Fuck You Anderson Cooper” t-shirts at hometown show

Billy Corgan retaliates to Anderson Cooper’s comments with t-shirts featuring cat’s in bowties.

Last month, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan came under attack when American journalist, author and TV personality Anderson Cooper staunched a section of his show ‘Anderson Cooper 360’, mocking the artist for posing with cats on the cover of PAWS Chicago Magazine. In response, Corgan took to Twitter by retaliating with a couple of angry tweets.

Upon reflection, Corgan decided that a few angry tweets hadn’t done the job and decided to take the feud to another level, by printing comical t-shirts. Smashing Pumpkins played a show at their hometown venue Thalia Hall in Chicago last night, where they sold the t-shirts featuring two cats sporting bowties with the words “Fuck you Anderson Cooper” printed on them.

The new Smashing Pumpkins album ‘Monuments to an Elegy’ is being released 8th December.

Catch up with songs to air from the record: ‘Drum and Fife’, ‘Tiberius’ and ‘One and All’.
