Smashing Pumpkins share video for ‘Drum + Fife’

The track features on the band’s latest LP, ‘Monuments to an Elegy’.

Smashing Pumpkins have shared a video for another track from latest LP, ‘Monuments to an Elegy’.

The band - whose Billy Corgan recently decided he wasn’t Billy after all - unveiled the Ahlander + Antiga-directed video for ‘Drum + Fife’, designed to be in tribute to members of the armed forces.

“I asked, albeit in an allegorical way, for the video to represent what our returning soldiers are going through with PTSD,” Corgan said in a press release, “and I feel that the directors captured that with poignancy. I couldn’t be more proud of the message we’re sending that we care what happens to those that are out there hurting.”

The track is also set to make bigger screens over the coming weeks, with appearances on ‘Good Morning America’ and ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’, the latter of which will feature Mark Stoermer of The Killers on bass, and RATM drummer Brad Will.
