SOPHIE’s posthumous, self-titled album drops early

SOPHIE’s final, self-titled album has been released early (via Transgressive and Future Classic), just ahead of its initially confirmed street date of 27th September. 

It’s the avant-pop producer’s second LP - the follow up to her 2018 debut ‘OIL OF EVERY PEARL’S UN-INSIDES’ - and comes more than three years after her tragic death. Having been near completion at the time of her passing, ‘SOPHIE’ has since been carefully finished by some of her loved ones and closest collaborators, including her studio manager and co-producer Benny Long.

Split into quarters, the record spans ambient (‘Intro (The Full Horror)’), dance-ready club cuts (‘Live In My Truth (feat. BC Kingdom & LIZ)’), futuristic techno (‘Berlin Nightmare (feat. Evita Manji)’) and all-out pop (‘Love Me Off Earth (feat. Doss)’). 

A bittersweet and poignant album, ‘SOPHIE’ is a fitting final testament to her boundary-pushing work.
