Confirmed
Speedy Ortiz announce new album ‘Foil Deer’
The band will release their second full-length this April through Carpark Records.
It’s been no secret that a Speedy Ortiz album has been on its way, but now it’s all confirmed: the band will release their new full-length ‘Foil Deer’ this April.
Having recently spoken to Billboard about their forthcoming second album, frontwoman Sadie Dupuis confirmed that their newest effort saw the band taking their time, with a “full three weeks” being dedicated to ‘Major Arcana”s follow-up.
Their new release also follows on from their 2014 EP ‘Real Hair’ and will feature the band’s new guitarist, Devin McKnight. It gets released on 20th April through Carpark Records.
“I gave up wasting mental energy on people who didn’t have my back,” Dupuis has commented in a press release. “Listening to our old records, I get the sense I was putting myself in horrible situations just to write sad songs. This music isn’t coming from a dark place, and without slipping into self-empowerment jargon, it feels stronger.”
The album is twelve tracks in length: its tracklisting is as follows.
1. Good Neck
2. Raising The Skate
3. The Graduates
4. Dot X
5. Homonovus
6. Puffer
7. Swell Content
8. Zig
9. My Dead Girl
10. Ginger
11. Mister Difficult
12. Dvrk Wvrld
The band have also revealed a very special illustration, as created by Michael DeForge, to celebrate the announcement of their record. Take a gander at it below.
