Philadelphia quartet Speedy Ortiz are back with another cut from their anticipated new album, ‘Rabbit Rabbit’. Following on from recent releases ‘Scabs’, ‘You S02’, and ‘Plus One’, the latest single ‘Ghostwriter’ is a frustration-fuelled powerhouse and a favourite within the band’s live set.

It arrives accompanied by a video directed by Alex Ross Perry that’s crammed with cameos, including comedians Josh Gondelman and Emily Panic; musicians Spencer Peppet (The Ophelias) and Zoë Brecher (Sad13/Bruce Springsteen); and New Yorker cartoonist Jason Adam Katzenstein.

“While ‘Ghostwriter’ ruminates on the horrible realities that stoke my anger - in this song’s case, the death of our climate and the criminalization of climate protesters - it’s also about trying to live with less rage in the day-to-day”, vocalist and guitarist Sadie Dupuis shares. “And not always succeeding, but not getting mad about that, either. And sometimes directing that angry adrenaline towards positive actions.”

‘Rabbit Rabbit’ will be Speedy Ortiz’ first studio album in over five years, and the band will mark the occasion with a huge North American tour; get tickets here, and check out the video for ‘Ghostwriter’ below.
