Speedy Wunderground announce ‘Quarantine Sampler 2’

Continuing their reign as the hottest label out there right now, today Speedy Wunderground have announced ‘Quarantine Sampler 2’, a new collab album with Dan Carey, under his Savage Gary persona, working with some of the coolest artists in the world.

Exploring and experimenting once again, today they’re sharing ‘Wait & See’ from Bajan artist RoRo and ‘Cigarettes Pt. 2’ from London’s youngblackmale.

“We chose two tracks/artists that I think we really wanted to shed some more light on,” says label co-runner Pierre Hall. “Two that we really didn’t want to go under the radar – and in our opinion reflect this parallel strand of the label that’s forming – with new artists we’re really excited about – and that will hopefully draw people in to explore the series as a whole.”

“I saw Dan Carey play with Kae Tempest on one of my first few times ever being out in London,” RoRo continues, “it was such an amazing show. I was extremely excited to then get the chance to work with him. I’d been trying to do so while in London, but it didn’t quite work out that way. We did manage to make it happen remotely whilst I was back in Barbados though, and we knocked it out!”

youngblackmale adds of his track, “It’s a poem, transformed into a song by the ever amazing Dan Carey. It touches (lightly) upon the topics of fear of the police, drug and alcohol abuse, family, and pulling oneself out of a nihilistic worldview driven by a newfound lust for life. This is me trying to reason with the void.”

“We’re really proud of both of these. It’s an exciting time to be part of Speedy,” Pierre says. “As it’s always been – this thing is driving us, not the other way around.”
