Tall Ships are calling it a day

The band have scheduled three farewell shows for December.

Just yesterday, we received the sad news that Wild Beasts were splitting up. This morning, as if to toy with our emotions even more, Tall Ships have announced that they’re also calling it a day.

Posting a note to Twitter with the title ‘TS 2008-2017’, the band revealed that they’ve come to the decision to stop being a band, announcing three farewell shows for this December in the process.

“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for gifting us with your attention and your time that has enabled us to have these amazing few years together,” the band wrote.

The quartet (originally a trio before James Elliot Field joined on keys around the time of their debut album) released two albums - 2012 debut ‘Everything Touching’ and this year’s ‘Impressions’, and two early EPs from 2010, a self-titled effort and ‘There Is Nothing But Chemistry Here’.

The band’s final show will come in London on 16th December at The Dome in Tufnell Park. Bristol and Leeds shows have also been scheduled, with support from Tangled Hair and T. Hayes.
