The Futureheads To Support Red Hot Chili Peppers

The Sunderland four-piece will open for the band at their Stadium Of Light show.

The Futureheads have been announced as support for Red Hot Chili Pepper’s massive show at Sunderland’s Stadium Of Light.

The band, who hail from the city themselves, will play alongside the rock giants on the 25th June.

The last time that the band played at the stadium was during Sunderland’s final game of the season in May 2005, when the team won the Championship.

Speaking to the Sunderland Echo, frontman Barry Hyde said: “I’m absolutely over the moon that we will be supporting the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Stadium of Light. The stadium is an icon of the city and playing there will be a thrill and a joy for us.’

Reverend and the Makers will also be supporting the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The Futureheads released their brand new a cappella album ‘Rant’ on Monday. They’re also currently on a tour of the UK, making the following stops.
