The Horrors share dark ‘Night Life’ opener ‘Ariel’
As well as sharing the opening track from their forthcoming album, the band have also scheduled a handful of instore performances.

As the release of their new album draws nearer, The Horrors have offered up its foreboding opening track, ‘Ariel’.
Lifted from the band’s forthcoming sixth album ‘Night Life’ - which is due for release on 21st March via Fiction Records - ‘Ariel’ is a brooding offering, punctuated by glitching synths and percussive beats, that opens proceedings. It also follows on from the album’s previously-released cuts ‘More Than Life’, ‘Lotus Eater’, ‘Trial By Fire’, and ‘The Silence That Remains’.
“‘Ariel’is a particularly special track, and a group favourite,” the band have said, in a press release. “It’s probably unlike any song we’ve written before, and kind of marks the beginning of a new chapter. We are always looking to explore new sonic territories and find new ways for the band to sound, it’s probably what we enjoy most about being in The Horrors. ‘Ariel’ was very much a studio creation - we put a distortion-heavy demo down at home and started moulding it into something more subtle at Holy Mountain with Yves. Amelia then added her world of chopped-up rhythms and vocal splices and it felt like we’d reached a new place. The Horrors of the future.”
Alongside sharing their latest track, the band have also confirmed plans for a handful of in-store performances, set to take place following the album’s release in the second half of next month. They’ll play seven shows across the UK in late March - scroll down to find the dates.
