The Knife announce ‘Shaking the Habitual: Live at Terminal 5’

The new live film and live album comes out on 1st September.

After teasing us all senseless just the other day with a pair of creepy video clips hinting towards a new release of some description, The Knife have now revealed what they’re actually up to.

The Swedish duo called it a day three years ago after a final run of shows in support of their last album ‘Shaking The Habitual’. Now Karin Dreijer and Olof Dreijer have announced they’ll be revisiting their New York show in 2014 with a new live film, live album, and photobook. ‘Shaking the Habitual: Live at Terminal 5’ comes out on 1st September via Rabid Recordings.

In a press release, The Knife also confirm that there has been a longstanding legal dispute with one of their record labels, Brille Records, which is limiting distribution on this release. “Brille have been claiming and demanding rights for this album for no upfront payment,” it states. Accordingly, ‘Shaking the Habitual: Live at Terminal 5’ will not be available to buy or stream in the UK/Eire, USA/Canada, Asia, or South/Latin America.

They’ll also be selling various memorabilia from the ‘Shaking The Habitual’ tour for charity. The Knife commissioned custom-made instruments for their 2014 tour, and will now be auctioning off the Bella Rune-designed creations to raise funds for the No One Is Illegal Network. “We demand permanent right of residence for all people who have arrived in Sweden and wish to remain. We believe in a world without borders, a world where no one is illegal.”
