The Knife have officially broken up
Swedish electronic group will play their final shows as a band this November.
Swedish duo The Knife have officially called it a day, it has been confirmed.
Olof and Karin Dreijer today announced their final run of shows for the ‘Shaken Up’ tour, a performance art run of shows off the back of 2013 LP ‘Shaking The Habitual’. These include Manchester Academy and Brixton Academy. Dates were announced under the banner of being the band’s “Last Tour”, and a spokesperson for the band has since confirmed the split to DIY.
The decision is due to the Dreijer’s desire to pursue other projects. In an interview with Dazed today, Karin confirmed: “When we finish the tour now in November we will close down, it’s our last tour. We don’t have any obligations to continue, it should only and always be for fun.”
The Knife released five studio albums, most notably 2006’s seminal ‘Silent Shout’ LP. Catch-up with ‘We Share Our Mother’s Health’ from that record below the final tour dates.
