Guess who's back
The Last Shadow Puppets look to be recording second album
Collaborator Owen Pallett dropped a hint in a since-deleted tweet.
Alex Turner and Miles Kane released their one and as yet only album as The Last Shadow Puppets in 2008, a woozy, poppy trip.
Since then, the duo have largely cast the project aside, with only a few live ‘reunions’ since. The most recent of these came during Arctic Monkeys’ massive Finsbury Park show last summer, with Kane joining Turner for a rendition of ‘Standing Next To Me’.
Seven years after ‘The Age Of The Understatement’, it looks like The Last Shadow Puppets could be back for LP2, with Owen Pallett, who contributed strings to the 2008 album, dropping a hint in a since-deleted tweet. If the news is indeed true, Pallett thinks we’re looking at a record of “Classic Status”.
No official word has been given as to the legitimacy of the rumours, but even the prospect of a return for the pair is pretty exciting. View the tweet and revisit ‘Standing Next To Me’ below.
