The National track Trump’s first year in office in ‘Walk It Back’ video

The latest ‘Sleep Well Beast’ clip gets political.

Link to a category have shared some fascinating videos for tracks from last year’s ‘Sleep Well Beast’ across the past few months.

From a bleached out ‘Carin At The Liquor Store’ clip to the trippy ‘Day I Die’ and weirdly celebratory ‘I’ll Still Destroy You’ videos and a slow-dance for the ‘Dark Side Of The Gym’ accompaniment, the album’s been given a slew of great videos.

The most recent cut was one for the album’s title track, and the band have now shared a politically-motivated ‘Walk It Back’ video.

Tracking Donald Trump’s first year in office, the fuzzy clip has a haunting quality to it. As with the track, it includes an excerpt of a speech from Karl Rove, George W. Bush’s advisor, a moment Rove denies any association with.

The National are set to host their own festival, Homecoming, in (predictably) their hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. The likes of Future Islands and Julien Baker are on the bill.

The band will also play a host of festivals including London’s All Points East and NOS Alive in Portugal amongst others.
