Ooh
The Strokes are up to something
The New York band’s logo has popped up on the side of an East London building. Something’s a-brewing, people.

Bloody hell - looks like The Strokes’ return might be sooner than we thought.
Earlier this evening, a projection appeared on the wall of a building on Brick Lane in London’s Shoreditch. Kicking off with the band’s logo, it then features some sort of Power Ranger figure going for a jog. For some reason. The words ‘future’, ‘present’ and ‘past’ also pop up. It closes with the logo for Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records, too, suggesting that there may, possibly, perhaps be a release involved somewhere. Maybe it’ll even be musical.
Look, we’re clutching at straws here. But it’s bloody exciting - not least because Albert Hammond Jr. suggested that there might well be new material around the corner just this week. They were back in the studio way back in September, so surely it’s ready by now, right?
On Tuesday (May 31st), the band play a New York show at Capitol Theatre, ahead of Governors Ball festival next weekend.
Watch a video of the projection for yourself below.
