The Walkmen Plot One-Off London Date

The Walkmen recently performed a tenth anniversary tour.

The Walkmen have revealed plans for a one-date stop off in London later this year.

The band will perform at London’s Village Underground on June 12th, a week after the release of their seventh studio album ‘Heaven’.

The Walkmen recently performed a tenth anniversary tour to mark a decade since the release of ‘Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me is Gone’.

The band’s seventh release will come out through Fat Possum and Bella Union on the 5th June, and was recorded with producer Phil Ek.

The Walkmen’s frontman Hamilton Leithauser said of the record ‘The detachment you can feel throughout our younger records is gone. We felt like it was time to make a bigger, more generous statement.’

It also appears that Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold will appear on the track ‘No One Ever Sleeps’.

The band have revealed a trailer for ‘Heaven’ and it can be viewed below.

The band last released their sixth album ‘Lisbon’ in September 2010 and will also be performing at this year’s Latitude Festival alongside Cloud Control Grouplove, Adam Ant and Carl Barat.

They’ll be joining previously announced headliners, Suede, Paolo Nutini and The National.

Latitude Festival will take place from 14th - 17th July, on Henham Park Estate, Southwold, Suffolk.
