The Walkmen To Reunite For NBA All-Star Charity Concert

Band cut their extreme hiatus” short after just a couple of months.”

The Walkmen’s

definition of ‘extreme’ probably differs to the conventional type. Their hiatus, which was announced in an interview late last year, was essentially thought to be a kiss of death for the band in many fan’s eyes. Despite this, they’ve taken little time at all to get back together, reuniting for a charity event, the Rock on Foundation Alt-Star Party.

Taking place on 15th February during the All-Star weekend, New Orleans’s One Eyed Jacks hosts the show.

Walkmen frontman Hamilton Leithauser clarified the hiatus situation, and the band’s willingness to come back so soon, by stating: ‘We thought it might take a lifetime to get us back together — til the Alt-Star Party gave us the nod. How could we stay on the bench? We’re coming 110 percent. Full-court press. Man to man. Rock n Roll, Pick n Roll.’

San Antonio Spurs’ Matt Bonner is putting on the event - his brother Luke Bonner is responsible for setting up the foundation.
