The xx line up BBC Radio 1 performance, share third mysterious snippet
Things are heating up as we zoom towards album three.
Alright, The xx aren’t hanging about any more.
They’re set to appear on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show this coming Thursday, performing live and having a little chat. It seems likely we’ll get a more concrete idea of album three plans then, too - those mysterious snippets of what sounds an awful lot like new music that have appeared over the last few days through the band’s in-the-studio playlist just got a third edition. Listen to that below, via Spotify.
So far we’ve had one that sounded very Romy-led, one that sounded an awful lot like Oliver’s vocal, and a third that’s quite dance-y. Like, y’know, old dance-y pants Jamie xx himself. That’s the whole trio - something’s gotta be coming, surely?
The xx head out on their first tour dates in yonks later this month, and they’re promising to share new material on the road. Things are starting to heat up in xx-land.
