Hold on
Thom Yorke and SBTKRT confirm collaboration
A 2012 remix of SBTRKT’s ‘Hold On’ was initially made under a secret guise.
SBTRKT’s forthcoming ‘Wonder Where We Land’ album is chock-a-block with guest spots, from new faces like Raury to trusty collaborators like Sampha. Back in 2012, however, two sides of XL Recordings combined when the masked producer picked up a remix for his ‘Hold On’ track by an artist going by the name of Sisi BakBak.
Turns out that individual was Thom Yorke, although the remix credit’s only just been confirmed via Radiohead’s own W.A.S.T.E. store. A link to the remix files the piece under “Thom Yorke / Atoms For Peace” - until now, only speculation tied the two artists together.
Yesterday Thom Yorke teased new landscape images on his Twitter - these would later appear in the updated version of Radiohead’s ‘Polyfauna’ App, which showcases new Radiohead material. The band themselves are set to go into the studio this September.
SBTRKT’s ‘Wonder Where We Land’ LP is out 22nd September.
