TOPS return with ‘Change of Heart’ video, 7” plans

Canadian all-poppers are back with first new material in two years.

Canadian four-piece TOPS have returned with their first new material in two years. A new 7” single ‘Change of Heart’ / ‘Sleeptalker’ is released on 23rd June via Arbutus Records.

The follow-up to 2012’s ‘Tender Opposites’ arrives after two years in which the Montreal ‘scene’ and the chatter around Arbutus itself has gone skywards. Majical Cloudz and Grimes represent just a couple of names who’ve since seen their stock rise - on the basis of new A-side ‘Change of Heart’, and its accompanying video, TOPS have shed none of their initial alt-pop aesthetic.

Tinny, light-reverbed guitars nestle up next to a Breakfast Club soundtrack-style rejoice, and the self-directed vid simply shows the band messing about.
