Watch TV On The Radio cover ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’
The band paid tribute to Prince at a special conference at Yale University.
Last weekend a special conference was held at Yale University, ‘Blackstar Rising & Purple Reign: Celebrating The Legacies of David Bowie and Prince’.
Numerous singers and musicians were at the event, with conversations with Solange, Questlove, Kimbra, Donny McCaslin and Sheila E. all being held, as well as talks about experimentalism, performance, sexuality, morality and borders.
Among the attendees were TV On The Radio, who were asked to perform at the event. Of course, you can’t go to a conference that’s partly about Prince without breaking out some kind of tribute, and the guys did that by covering Sinead O’Connor’s ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’, which the Purple One wrote and composed. The moment was handily captured on camera. Kind of makes you wonder why they didn’t break into a Bowie cover though. Curious…
