Tyondai Braxton streams new single ‘Gracka’

‘Gracka’ is the second single from ex-Battle’s co-founder Tyondai Braxton’s forthcoming album ‘HIVE1’

Tyondai Braxton has been sporadically recording music solo and with various outfits for over two decades. In February this year he announced his first full length solo release in six years ‘HIVE1’ along with its first single, ‘Scout1’. Following this the former Battles frontman has released the follow up single ‘Gracka’.

According to Braxton, ‘Gracka’ is his nickname for his wife and the track reminds him of her, supposedly encapsulating her “always surprising, always beautiful spirit and down to earth nature.” Not your conventional love song, ‘Gracka’’s tranquil bells and strings are warped into glitchy, restless chaos.

Braxton has also announced a three-night residency at New York City’s The Kitchen which will showcase a performance of HIVE (‘HIVE1’’s inspiration) from inside of an art installation by Grace Villamil on June 4th-6th. He plays London’s XOYO on 16th June.
