Villagers Extend UK Tour With Second London Date

Villagers has extended his forthcoming UK tour with an extra London date, his second at the Village Underground, on 21st February.

The run will follow the release of Conor J. O’Brien’s brand new album ”, the follow up to Mercury-nominated and Ivor Novello Award winning debut ‘Becoming A Jackal’, due for release on 14th January.

Speaking to DIY about the forthcoming full-length, O’Brien told DIY: ‘It sounds to me like it’s more expansive. I think [2010’s] ‘Becoming A Jackal’ follows a line to a certain degree; it’s very narrative folk, lyric-based stuff, whereas this new stuff has got quite a lot more rhythmical backbone. The stuff that you would dance to. In the last year or two, I’ve been listening to a lot of New Orleans funk and really groovy music and I think that’s kind of come out in it.’
