Villagers reveal video for ‘Hot Scary Summer’

Villagers have released a video for their recent track ‘Hot Scary Summer’.

The track, which is the next single to be taken from April’s ‘Darling Arithmetic’, has been given a gorgeous animated clip to accompany it.

Across his summer of touring and festivals, Conor O’Brien has been introducing the track in relation to the Irish government making gay marriage legal, and the song talks of “all the pretty homophobes looking for a fight”. O’Brien was extremely vocal in the run-up to the refurendum, and was seen campaigning for the Yes vote in the centre of Dublin.

Villagers end their summer in Ireland this weekend at Electric Picnic, before heading to the US to support Paul Weller on tour. Watch the video for ‘Hot Scary Summer’ below.
