Watch Arctic Monkeys Cover The Beatles’ ‘All My Loving’
Sheffield band marked their Madison Square Garden show with a special cover.
The past week’s witnessed a flurry of covers and general excitement around the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles’ first ever televised performance. It was on the Ed Sullivan show - the first time The Beatles were taken to the States - and it was watched by over 70 million.
Arctic Monkeys played to a slightly smaller number of people during the band’s first Madison Square Garden gig, but it remains their biggest US show to date, so Alex Turner and co. gave the occasion the treatment it deserved.
‘We thought, seeing as we’re in New York, as they were all those years ago, that we’d play a little Beatles song for you tonight,’ the frontman said. ‘Apparently one in three Americans actually watched that performance, so if we’re lucky one or three Americans might watch this YouTube video.’
Doing our bit in the name of 1 in 3 people watching this video, here’s the clip of them playing a cover of The Beatles’ ‘All My Loving’ below.
