Watch: British Sea Power Unveil ‘Machineries Of Joy’ Video
It’s the title track from the band’s forthcoming fifth album, released next month.
As they announced back in January, British Sea Power are set to release a new album next month.
The Brighton-based quintet will unleash fifth album ‘Machineries of Joy’ on 1st April, once again via Rough Trade. The record is the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Valhalla Dancehall’ and marks a decade of the band.
“We’d like to think the album is warm and restorative,” says singer Yan of the album. “Various things are touched on in the words – Franciscan monks, ketamine, French female bodybuilders turned erotic movie stars. The world often seems a mad, hysterical place at the moment. You can’t really be oblivious to that, but we’d like the record to be an antidote – a nice game of cards in pleasant company.”
Now, following from them streaming the title track last month, there’s a video for it.
The promo was made by Clare Tavernor and Angus Sutherland.
British Sea Power will head out on tour in support of ‘Machineries of Joy’ this April, beginning in Exeter on 4th April.
