Star Power
Watch Foxygen debut new song ‘Can’t Contextualize My Mind’
6-minute stomper consists of a whole lot of screaming from Sam France.

A week on from sharing the lead track from their new album, ‘… And Star Power’, footage has emerged of Foxygen road-testing another of the record’s 24 songs.
Playing at Neumos in Seattle, Sam France and co. led the band through a rendition of ‘Can’t Contextualize My Mind’. It’s a scream, six-minute number that showcases the band’s all-singing all-dancing new live line-up, which debuted at Coachella 2014.
This links up with ‘How Can You Really’, the more refined lead single from a new album.
Foxygen gave their first interview around the new album to DIY. “ The idea has been brewing for a long time. And what you saw at Coachella is the live incarnation. We’ll be touring with that band,” said Jonathan Rado about the band’s line-up.
“Within the record there’s a range of songs. Some are a minute long, some eight minutes. ‘How Can You Really’ is the first song on the record. We sort of invite the listener in. And then it deviates into something else and deviates into something else again.”
