Watch: Kevin Devine & Jesse Lacey Discuss ‘Bubblegum’
As Kevin Devine gears up to release two new albums, he sits down with the Brand New frontman who produced the record.

Kevin Devine is set to release not one, but two new albums on Monday, and to celebrate, he’s sat down to talk with ‘Bubblegum”s producer Jesse Lacey.
Ahead of the release of both ‘Bubblegum’ and ‘Bulldozer’, Devine has revealed the teaser trailer to a four-part video series in which Devine, Lacey and - Mike Fadem and Mike Strandberg of - the Goddamn Band all discuss the making of the record.
‘It was great to get to revisit the process of making Bubblegum a few months down the line, to sit and speak through how it all looks from this side of the experience,’ explains Devine, in a press release. ‘I was eager to let Jesse speak to it from his perspective as a first-time producer, and to hear how the Mike’s felt about their roles and reflections. I think the series is informative and fun and breaths well, and I think it reflects the energy and connection present on the record itself. Hopefully you do too.’
DIY is also happy to reveal that it’ll be hosting each of the four video clips, beginning on Monday (14th October). Read the DIY verdict on both ‘Bubblegum’ and Devine’s solo effort ‘Bulldozer’ right here.
