Watch Sharon Van Etten bring a New Zealand news anchor to tears with surprise show
John Campbell - SVE’s biggest fan - was a sobbing mess, live on air.

New Zealand news anchor John Campbell is a really big fan of Sharon Van Etten. So much so, he’ll tear up when talking about her music. He bought a ticket for her Auckland show before other commitments had to take priority, but the team on his 3News show ‘Campbell Live’ had him covered.
The host was surprised live on air by crew members, when Sharon Van Etten - backstage at her Auckland show - played Campbell a surprise set. Things got tearful. Campbell broke down in tears in front of a live audience, before Van Etten took to her ‘Tarifa’ track.
Watch Campbell’s emotions unfold via 3News.
Sharon Van Etten’s ‘Are We There’ LP is out now.
