Watch: Villagers Unveils ‘Occupy Your Mind’ Single

It’s a song written for you, your mother, your father and your gay brothers and sisters in Russia.”“

Conor J O’Brien’s Villagers have unveiled a standalone single, ‘Occupy Your Mind’, publicly written in line with the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, being declared ‘a song written for you, your mother, your father and your gay brothers and sisters in Russia.’

The new song contains lyrics where the message it pretty obvious - ‘There’s a government warning / they don’t like our kind’ - and the song itself is a sinister, plugged in force; a bringing together of stabbing synths and a very angry sounding Conor.

There’s also a video, below, directed by Alden Volney. The single’s out now on iTunes.
