What the hell did Foxygen just release?

Foxygen have released a new track called ’24 HOUR LOVER MAN’, and it’s completely fucking ridiculous, to be perfectly honest.

Shared alongside a photo of Jonathan Rado and Sam France holding boom-boxes, wearing bling and perching next to graffiti that says “BOYS LIFE”, this seems to be their (fairly troublesome) attempt at creating a ‘hip hop’ alter-ago.

The song contains the following lyrical nuggets:

- “I’m on some post-Ezra Koenig fuckin North Face bullshit boyfriend.”

- “Drake’s nice but he ain’t got rhymes like i fucked Freddy Kreuger’s eyeballs while listening to Black Dice on ecstasy.”

- “I ain’t sexist I just wanna tap that.”

- “Likes boys but he’s not gay, cuz they’re just toys for which to play with”

Musically it’s a cross between Death Grips and Jimi Hendrix, sampling the latter’s ‘Manic Depression’.
