Yung share ‘Uncombed Hair’ track, announce UK/EU dates
Danish punk four-piece Yung have unveiled ‘Uncombed Hair’, the second teaser of their incoming debut album. Choppy and housing a frivolous attitude to tempo, and yet thematically exploring the feeling of tracking a friend’s declining mental state via their increasingly messy appearance, it captures Yung’s two-tone contrast of the bright and bleak perfectly. “I literally wrote ‘Uncombed Hair’ in ten minutes and recorded the song about an hour after that,” explains the band’s figurehead Mikkel Holm Silkjær in a statement, “which is a big contrast to the more permanent themes that the song addresses - It relates to death and depression, which was something that was a significantly big part of one of my dear friend’s life when I wrote the song and couldn’t help but inform my music. So this one is dedicated to bad things and good people.” Paired with ‘Pills’, the track’s taken from ‘A Youthful Dream’, Yung’s debut album. That’s due on June 10th via Fat Possum Records, with the band set to play the following UK/EU dates around its release. MAY 20 Aarhus, DK Pop Revo Festival JUNE 13 London, Rough Trade East 14 London, Shacklewell Arms JULY 01 Toulon, FR, Rockorama Festival 16 Haarlem, NL, Kliko Fest 17 Leeuwarden, NL, Welcome To The Village FestivalCatch up with the DIY interview with Yung here.
