Easy 'Taiga'
Zola Jesus gives away new single, ‘Dangerous Days’
Nika Danilova’s fourth album is out this October.
Zola Jesus has unveiled the first track from her new album, ‘Taiga’.
‘Dangerous Days’ is a stomping synth number that builds from simple padded out rhythms into something bordering on euphoric - it’s the most streamlined track she’s put her name to for a long time.
‘Taiga’ (out 5th October), was recorded and produced by Nika Danilova. Her fourth album, its title refers to the Russian name of the boreal forest - “For me it feels very alive… very expansive,” she says in a statement. “There are taiga forests in Northern Wisconsin where I was raised, and also in Russia where my ancestors are from, so it also feels very native.”
The track’s available as a free download in exchange for an email address on zolajesus.com.
