GEoRGiA - Digits
‘Digits’’ abrasive, all-everything assault might even come Kanye-approved if it fell into the right hands.
The mantra for London producer GEoRGiA’s latest track is pretty fitting: “Hold it down”. Keep cool. Try and maintain a balance, some semblance of energy when presented with a track like ‘Digits’, which almost entirely exists to deceive. A meddling maze of a track, it brings together every side of the newcomer’s repertoire (gnawing percussive parts, synths that screech out of their comfort zone, vocals pitch-shifted beyond recognition) and takes every element to its extreme.
Thinking about it, ‘Digits’’ abrasive, all-everything assault might even come Kanye-approved if it fell into the right hands. Don’t rule out GEoRGiA being judged as up there with the likes of Arca in flicking a switch towards the future.
