have been exploring tween-tinged pop with a hint of yeah ‘we’ve got Nico’s fringes’ for about 2 years now. Bless.
And having started a record label (apparently) it seems like these sisters, that aren’t really sisters but y’know great friends are really , erm, doing it for themselves.
A shame they went to space and not their older sister’s record collection on ‘UFO’ then. After referencing old staple Blondie on earlier singles the vocals on this drone rather than wittily snap and the space sounds come of us little more than ridiculous when compared with the arse shakingly fun chorus. Cries of ‘Imagination’, while not quite setting the listener alight, at least hint at something a bit exciting that could emerge from beneath the identikit images and cute skirt wearing hooks.
Try The Slits? Bikini Kill? Kenickie? Gosh, for now even Sleeper had more bite than this lot.
