Have You Heard?
Shura - Indecision
It’s hard not to be buzzing with excitement over Shura’s first steps.

It’s more difficult to restrain from quivering at one of Shura’s tracks than it is playing The Impossible Quiz inebriated. Sure, sceptics may say that it’s just the hip-shaking beats that lace the Londoner’s tracks - but there’s something invisible at work that is intermingled between the sassy synths and teasing basslines – it’s a feeling of infectious excitement. With only a handful of tracks released, Shura has unleashed a serious wave of frenzy on the blogosphere; and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see why.
‘Indecision’ is the perfect Exhibit A to any possible naysayer; it boldly places itself half-way between the tropical-flecked tunes of La Roux’s new album and the deeply atmospheric sound of Jessie Ware. Synth pads and bass marry together beautifully, as a tiered cake of hooks is gradually built-up, ready to be scoffed-up by the hungry pop masses. The track may deal with the issue of uncertainty, but even after only a few songs it’s not hard to have your mind made-up – and buzzing with excitement – over Shura’s beginnings.
Shura makes her UK live debut at London’s Studio Spaces, 5th November.
