There’s an anthemic quality about the debut single from Thumpers, aka lifelong friends Marcus Pepperell and John Hamson. ‘Dancing’s Done’ has the kind of simple yet overwhelmingly infectious riff flowing through its centre, which will implant itself in your head after just a few listens and probably never leave. Its near spoken lyrics are the sort you can’t help but chant along to whether you like it or not.
Whilst annoying the hell out of some and providing mass sing-along for others, Thumpers are unmistakable earworm material. With a party atmosphere, they’d be a big hit on the festival circuit. So for better or worse, you can expect to hear much more from them this year.
