Blur stream ‘Ong Ong’ track

One week ahead of ‘The Magic Whip’’s release, new Blur tracks are emerging by the day.

‘Ong Ong’ is the latest to be lifted from Blur’s first album as a four-piece in sixteen years. The band’s own Dave Rowntree gave it a play on his XFM show last night, and it aired on BBC Radio 2 earlier today - the band also gave it a showcase on their special guest slot for last week’s Later… With Jools Holland.

A simple, chant-centric “la la la” ode to keeping it simple, it’s one of the more straightforward cuts on the LP. Going by our track-by-track review of the LP, the song “won’t win any awards for complex songwriting, but when it comes to raw, grin-inducing positivity, it’ll be hard to match.”
